Dissecting the iPhone: What to do better next time

I think Ryan's post shows the future for products like the iPhone, in that even a "perfect" product can be improved. The post is extremely valuable in my opinion, because it addresses a small detail and offers a way to improve it. And by adding photos it makes it also easy to understand. Very good job, Ryan.

Steve Jobs attitude as God of consumer electronics has worked very well so far. However even Apple cannot continue with this "we are infallible / no transparency" attitude for eternity. Why not aggregate this small incremental change posts like Ryan's one on the Apple iPhone site itself and let them rate by other iPhone customers?

The iPhone is great, but it could be better - like almost everything. And maybe this explains also that around Christmas time there were proportionally a lot of iPhone users accessing the internet, but already in January this dropped again. Explanation: everybody which bought an iPhone around Christmas time or got it as a gift, tried it out. It was cool during the first weeks, but will it continue to be cool for the next months?

Side question: Does Android first need some similar marketshare till Steve changes his ways?

PS:
Kaywa does certainly want to go into this direction. But it will take some time till we get there, as it needs a complete makeover of current processes.
